Bredagh V Aghaderg 02.07.16

Bredagh U12 camogie team had their last game before the summer break on Saturday when they travelled down to face Aghaderg. It was a really strong performance from the Bredagh girls, who continue to improve week on week. There were good performances all around the pitch. Among the scorers were Aoife Doyle, Mercedes and Lucie but everyone played their part in the win. Well done to Aoife N, Hala, Yara, Aoibhe, Cara, Orlaith, Lauren, Orlagh, Rachel, Siofra, Riona, Mercedes, Aoife D, Lucie, Maria and Emer.

Bredagh V Ballycran

Bredagh U12 camogs played the latest game in the Down league on Saturday morning at home to Ballycran. Bredagh had a total of 27 players available and it is good to see the girls, who are training so hard, turn out in such numbers for the matches. Ballycran kindly agreed to play 3 x 15 minute periods to make sure everyone got some meaningful game time. The girls are showing improvement week on week and there were great performances across the park. Well done to Aoibhe, Orlaith, Maria, Claire, Lucie, Anna, Lauren, Katherine, Aoife, Aimee, Laura, Halla, Orlagh, Yarra, Jude, Rachel, Niamh, Clodagh, Emma, Ava, Siofra, Lauren, Riona, Annie, Mercedes, Patricia and, of course, Lily who is missing from the photo. Well done too to the 4 Bredagh girls who played for the Belfast schools Camogie team against Dublin schools last week.

Bredagh V Portaferry

Bredagh U12 camog’s unbeaten run in the league came to an end despite a very gutsy display away to Portaferry on Saturday afternoon.

The girls started the match really well and were ahead at half time but tired in the humid conditions as the second half progressed.

The final score was Portaferry 3-1 Bredagh 1-2. The Bredagh girls can take a lot of positives from their performance. Playing for Bredagh were

Annie, Cara, Aimee, Katherine, Maria, Marianne, Aoife, Lily, Halla, Yarra, Lucie, Mercedes, Clodagh, Siofra, Ava, Patricia and Lauren

Bredagh U12 camogs got their league campaign off to the perfect start on Saturday 16th May 2015 with a hard fought win away to Kilcoo.

Bredagh played with the aid of a stiff breeze in the first half but couldn’t capitalise on their possession against a tough Kilcoo outfit.

Scoring chances were at a premium, although Orla McCarville and Rachel Glover went close. Aoife Doyle finally managed to make possession count with a well taken goal just before half time, assisted by Marianne Doherty and Neamh Carron.

The wind didn’t ease up and Bredagh knew they were in for a tough second half of defending. Thankfully, the Bredagh girls gave it their all, with every one of them standing up to be counted to deny Kilcoo the equalizer. Poppy McCamphill, Aimee McCrudden, Aoife Neeson, Nina Carnie and Sorcha O’Brien all defended brilliantly. Sian Curran and Katherine Ward ran themselves into the ground in midfield. Lois Gillan in goals made a superb reflex save. Up front, Ana McCrea and Mia Birnie posed a threat in the second half but just couldn’t manage to extend the lead.

In the end, the girls had to settle for a 1-0 to 0-0 win.
